Making the bench

A form was created into which concrete was poured. The main image, a re-creation of Pollock's "Water Bull" painting, was fabricated separately and then applied onto the bench. The two side images, portraits of Pollock at work, were silk screened with glaze onto eight tiles, then fired and applied. After adding hand-made "splatter tiles" to the sides, the whole work was grouted and sealed, then installed in December, 2004.

Oh, to be 9 months pregnant and mosaicking a bench in a hot garage ...that's the life...
